Happy 4th of July!

We had our first gathering in the new house to celebrate the 4th of July and what would have been my mom's 78th birthday.  Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures since the iPhone was serving as a music source this time- got to love Pandora.  All the guests were amazed by the transformation of the little Tripp House!  It was also nice to have the dining table set up and used for the first time in the dining room.  What was really amazing was the air conditioning making a sticky day dry and cool!  By the time the sun was setting it was nice enough to venture outside to eat surrounded by chickens, turkeys and a duck!

William had a great time chasing the chickens around and had a tet-a-tet with Cranberry.  They seemed to get along well!  The baby turkeys were out and wandering the yard eating bugs!

Willy-Bobo and Cranny!
A boy and his hen- is there anything cuter?
Sam escaped with the men for a boat ride on the river.  According to Uncle Dave he skippered the boat nearly the whole way!  Dave was very impressed with Sam's innate boating skills.  I think Sam has inherited a boating talent from both sides of his family- he's a natural!

Sam at the helm!
Captain Sam!

I'm not sure how Evan escaped a photograph.  Next time we have to get Evan's picture too.  We ended our day with some fire works set off by Sam (when did he get so old to be able to set off fireworks?).  Then the Kirkiles family fled to the car for an escape when Uncle Dave took out the antique pistol to shoot.  They all decided it would be too loud and ran away scared!  All in all a good day was had by all!
